• Canadian National Railway Historical Association — A research and modelling group dedicated to the CN family of railways.
• Canadian Pacific Historical Association — Publishes CP Tracks magazine and maintains an online CPR documents library.
• Canadian Railroad Historical Association — The national heritage-rail association, and operator of the Exporail museum.
• Great Northern Railway Historical Society — Preserves the history of the Great Northern Railway, which once served British Columbia.

Lower Mainland

• Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society — Operates the historic Surrey interurban line.
• West Coast Railway Association — Operates the Railway Museum of British Columbia in Squamish.

Northern BC

• Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum — A railway and forestry museum located in Prince George.
• Prince George Railway Society — Maintains the “Little Prince” steam engine, on display at The Exploration Place.

Southern Interior

• Cranbrook History Centre — Features an HO scale display of the CPR Southern Mainline.
• Kettle Valley Railway Society / Kettle Valley Steam Railway — Operates a heritage steam railway near Summerland.

Vancouver Island

• Canadian Railroad Historical Association — Esquimalt & Nanaimo Division
• Island Corridor Foundation — Owns and manages the historic E&N Railway corridor on Vancouver Island.

Yukon

• White Pass & Yukon Route Railway — A historic narrow-gauge railway built during the Klondike Gold Rush, connecting Skagway, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon.
• Yukon Historical and Museums Association — A general heritage and museums association serving the Yukon.

• Canadian Freight Railcar Gallery — A photo reference gallery of North American freight cars.
• Fallen Flags — A vast photo archive of discontinued (“fallen flag”) North American railroads.
• Freight Car Gallery — Freight car photo galleries organized by type, useful for modelling reference.
• Railroad Picture Archives — A large, open, user-contributed railroad photo archive.
